Finca Nuevo México is a family-owned and operated farm situated at 1300 meters above sea level in La Concordia, Mexico. This multi-generational family farm has been operational since 1978, but it is only in its first generation of coffee production. The current owner, Ricardo Ibarra Baumann, inherited the farm from his mother. Spanning 75 hectares with an additional 320 hectares dedicated to natural reserves, Finca Nuevo México practices a three-stage picking process to select only the ripest cherries.
Our roaster, Bill, visited their operation a couple years back and was impressed by what they had going on. We've featured their coffee in the Rogue Wave a couple of times, but this will be the first time we've offered it as a lighter roasted single origin.
While coffees from Mexico are popular for their clean and classic, washed mild profiles, they don’t often have attributes that make them stand out. This coffee has a more dynamic sweetness and depth of flavor compared to typical offerings from Mexico, making it one you definitely don't want to miss.
